Safety MITOVIT^®

The MITOVIT^® Hypoxic Training device offers the highest level of safety in use, thanks to two pulse oximeters. Two values for the SpO₂ are always recorded and compared in parallel. Thanks to this double protection, the safety mechanism can intervene and immediately supply the user with normoxic air if one pulse oximeter fails, if the values are incorrect or if there is a difference between the two measurement data. This ensures that the oxygen saturation is not inadvertently lowered below the limit range during treatment.
MITOVIT^® contains a safety valve which ensures that the supply of room air is guaranteed in the event of a power failure and failure of the device.
As everyone's tolerance to hyperoxia is different, the fully automated hypoxia test integrated into the MITOVIT^® system should be carried out before the first hypoxia training session in order to determine the individual oxygen concentration.

Application

Relaxed training - possible with the MITOVIT^® Hypoxic Training device!
Hypoxic training is best carried out in a semi-recumbent position. The comfortable breathing mask is used to breathe oxygen-poor and oxygen-rich air at intervals to imitate the stimuli of physical exertion. During the training session, you can breathe normally and will not feel short of breath. A session with the MITOVIT^® Hypoxic Training device lasts 40 minutes.
For athletes who want to increase their performance, hypoxic training can also be used during moderate physical exertion, e.g. on an ergometer. The hypoxia should be set between 18 % and 15 % oxygen.

Nobel Prize in Medicine for hypoxia research

In 2019, the three scientists Wililam Kaelin, Gregg Semenza and Peter Ratcliffe were awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine for their research and discovery of molecular mechanisms in the field of cell oxygenation. The cells are able to measure the oxygen content and recognise when adaptation reactions are necessary and in this context the positive reaction of hypoxia. The benefits of hypoxia in accelerating the apoptosis of weakened mitochondria and stimulating the formation of new mitochondria can be utilised with MITOVIT^® thanks to its relaxed application.
