Additional orthostasis test module
An orthostasis test or position change test is then used. In this test, 130 RR intervals are measured with the patient lying down. This is followed by an acoustic signal and the message: "Stand up now". A further 210 RR intervals are then measured with the patient standing up.
The orthostasis test is useful if the parasympathetic values are conspicuously high and the patient's state of mind is characterised by exhaustion and lack of energy. This raises the question of whether there is a regulatory disorder with a hyperactive parasympathetic nervous system and a weakened sympathetic nervous system. The change in position exerts a stress stimulus that can be used to control the switching off of the parasympathetic nervous system. In comparison, a clear difference should be recognisable between the lying and standing position. The heart rate (HR) and the stress index (SI, red bar) should increase, whereas the parasympathetic nervous system (RMSSD, blue bar) should decrease.

The long-term measurement makes it possible to carry out measurements for an unlimited period of time. In addition to displaying the heart rate variability, the parasympathetic activity is visualised in real time as a blue line. The Microlife ear thermometer IR210 delivers the measurement result within one second. The ACCUsens positioning aid ensures correct positioning and therefore a precise measurement in the ear. The measuring tip of the Microlife Ear Thermometer IR210 is equipped with an LED light. The Silent Glow™ technology provides a colour display of the temperature - normal up to 37.4 °C in green and elevated temperature from 37.5 °C in red.
