The ASP permanent needle was developed in collaboration with Dr Paul NOGIER for use in ear acupuncture. It has been marketed by Sedatelec for more than 20 years and its shape has become the company's trademark. The permanent needle is still the most frequently used and most effective means of point stimulation in ear acupuncture.
The ASP consists of a small stainless steel needle in a plastic insertion aid. With the help of this insertion aid, the doctor can easily grasp the needle and insert it precisely into the ear. The needle inserted into the pinna in this way is sterile.
After insertion, the needle can be protected by an adhesive disc. The effect lasts as long as the needle remains in the ear. A magnet in the insertion aid induces a magnetic field in the implanted needle.
The ASP needles are manufactured in rooms of the highest purity and sterilised using gamma rays. They are supplied to you sterile for single use.
