Moor & Fango - the healing power of nature

Heat therapy is known to work best with mud and fango. You can buy the ingredients in our online shop. The positive effects of heat therapy with moor have been known for thousands of years. Even the ancient Egyptians used Nile mud and peat to alleviate various ailments. The Roman legionaries, on the other hand, favoured mud, while the Greeks of the time used peat. Paracelsus also recommended mud, which became established as a healing treatment in German spas from the early 19th century. Both fango paraffin and moor retain heat very well, which is why some people even buy the ingredients here for home heat therapy. Pure moor contains no additives and instead contains many valuable humic acids. With its natural composition, the moor pack binds the necessary moisture and ensures that you can tolerate a temperature of around 40 °C during application. This allows the rising heat to unfold its full effect.

What is the difference between mud & fango?

Like organic moor, fango is a natural product, but it is inorganic. Nevertheless, fango also comes from nature. It is of volcanic origin and just as useful for therapy. To produce fango, volcanic rock is ground and then mixed with water to create fango mud. Another variant frequently used in medical practices is fango paraffin, which is produced by mixing the rock flour with paraffin. The wax-like product can be heated and liquefied, moulded into sheets and, after cooling slightly but still relatively hot, applied to your skin for therapy. The pack then cools and hardens. After application, the therapist returns the hardened sheets to the fango oven. There they melt, become sterile and can be used again. Fango paraffin can be used up to 30 times. The effect of mud is based on relaxation through heat. The skin does not absorb the inorganic minerals. In contrast, it absorbs the organic material from a mud pack (humic acid, minerals, tannins, flavonoids and silicic acids). The effect of heat is also added here. In a peat pack, the heat rises slowly, which also makes a certain difference to mud. A heat carrier is responsible for this. Patients find this extremely pleasant. A peat pack with a pH value of around 4.5 to 5 and a high proportion of anti-inflammatory humic acid is very healthy!

Application and effect

In order for mud packs and mud cushions to develop their full healing power in therapy, they require a reusable heat carrier. This is a fleece that enables optimum contact for the exchange of heat and - in the case of the mud pack - humic acid between the pack and the skin. Apply the packs, which should not be too hot, to the areas of the skin where you need the therapy most. The heat therapy has a soothing effect and relaxes you optimally. Buy enough products to fully utilise the healing power - until you feel healthy again!
