Safety MITOVIT^®

The MITOVIT^® Hypoxic Training device offers the highest level of safety in use, thanks to two pulse oximeters. Two values for SpO₂ are always recorded and compared in parallel. Thanks to this double safeguard, the safety mechanism can intervene and immediately supply the user with normoxic air in the event of a pulse oximeter failure, incorrect values, or if there is a difference between the two measured values. This ensures that the oxygen saturation does not accidentally drop below the limit range during the treatment.
MITOVIT^® includes a safety valve which ensures that the supply of room air is guaranteed in the event of a power failure or device malfunction.
Since tolerance to hyperoxia varies, the fully automated hypoxia test integrated in the MITOVIT^® system should be carried out before the first hypoxia training session to determine the individual oxygen concentration.

Application

Relaxed training – possible with the MITOVIT^® Hypoxic Training device!
Hypoxic training is best performed in a semi-recumbent position. With the comfortable breathing mask, oxygen-poor and oxygen-rich air is breathed in intervals to simulate stimuli similar to physical exertion. Normal breathing is possible during training sessions and there is no sensation of shortness of breath. One session with the MITOVIT^® Hypoxic Training device lasts 40 minutes.
For athletes who want to increase their performance, hypoxic training can also be used during moderate physical exercise, e.g. on an ergometer. The hypoxia should be set between 18% and 15% oxygen.
    

Nobel Prize in Medicine for Hypoxia Research

In 2019, the three scientists Wililam Kaelin, Gregg Semenza and Peter Ratcliffe received the Nobel Prize in Medicine for their research and discovery of molecular mechanisms in the field of cellular oxygen supply. The cells are able to measure the oxygen content and detect when adjustment reactions are necessary and in this context the positive reaction to hypoxia. The benefits of hypoxia for accelerating the apoptosis of weakened mitochondria and stimulating the formation of new mitochondria can be utilised with MITOVIT^® thanks to relaxing application.
