DOC FFP2 protective masks
DOC FFP2 protective masks
DIN EN 149:2001 + A1:2009. CE 0598 | Individually packed
FFP2 masks are particle-filtering half masks that guarantee a filter performance of at least 94% (FFP2 / KN95 / N95) of aerosols and fine dust particles up to a size of 0.6 μm. FFP2 masks are therefore suitable for effective protection against solid and liquid harmful dusts, smoke, bacteria and viruses that are inhaled via the air we breathe. The mouth and nose area is completely covered for optimum protection. FFP2 protective masks are tested in accordance with the European standard (EN 149). Health authorities often refer to these standards for protection against viruses such as the coronavirus during an epidemic, pandemic or in emergency situations. If in doubt, contact the Federal Office of Public Health directly to find out about comprehensive respiratory protection regulations.DOC FFP2 masks

The Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) recommends that doctors and medical care staff use an FFP2 protective mask when treating and caring for people suspected of being infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19). Wearing the protective mask is recommended for up to 30 minutes during activities with a high risk of aerosol formation. The maximum wearing time of an FFP2 mask is 8 hours, so it can be worn for the entire working shift.
Use of FFP2 masks:
FFP2 masks only provide effective protection if they are fitted and worn correctly. Before use, check the durability of the protective mask and follow the operating instructions. Before touching each protective mask for the first time, wash your hands thoroughly with soap or hand sanitiser. In the first step, mould a nose clip with one finger. Then pull the lower strap over your head and place it on the back of your neck. Then, insert the chin, pull it over the nose and place the upper band above the ears. Now position the FFP2 mask using the tabs and adjust the straps and nose clip individually. Finally, check that the mask fits tightly and adjust it again if air escapes.
